2011 Opportunity Expo

Thank you to all of the organizations and representatives that contributed to the 2011 Kapi ‘olani Community College STEM Program Opportunity Expo. This year’s event was a great success and none of it could have been possible without all of you. Also, a big thank you to all of the STEM Peer Mentors and STEM students who helped during the expo, as well as all of the students who attended the event. Pictures from the expo can be viewed on the official STEM Program facebook page:

Video from the event can also be found at the STEM Program vimeo page:

Also, a big thank you is in order for Ian Kitajima and Cindy Matsuki from Oceanit and Vincent Kimura and Joel Ching from Inovi. The Design Thinking workshop they held immediately after the Opportunity Expo was a great success. Photos from the workshop can also be found on the STEM Program facebook page at the link below:

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Program, in collaboration with the Board of Student Activities (BOSA) at Kapi‘olani Community College, hosted the STEM Opportunity Expo on October 19th, 2011. This event was designed to promote career, degree, service, and internship opportunities available locally for students interested in STEM fields. In the fall semester of 2010, Kapi‘olani CC held an Internship Expo that brought together eighteen community, as well as private industry, organizations seeking interns. This year, we expanded the scope of this event to better support the needs of our growing student body and to address the importance of post-baccalaureate degrees.
