- Codi Wong, American Society for Microbiology – April 2013
- STEM Program student Codi Wong was given a travel award at the annual spring conference for the Hawaii branch of the American Society for Microbiology.
- Micon Garvilles, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship – April 2013
- STEM Program student and ASNS Life Science Pathway major Micon Garvilles was awarded the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship, which is only awarded to 60 community college students throughout the nation every year.
- Robin Kaai (in conjunction with Thomas Premeaux), John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) Biomedical Sciences and Health Disparities Symposium – April 2013
- STEM Program student and Peer Mentor Robin Kaai, along with fellow KapCC Undergraduate Researcher Thomas Premeaux, won the top award at the 2013 UH Manoa JABSOM Biomedical Sciences and Health Disparities Symposium. It was the first time a community college student had taken the top honor.
- STEM students present at the 2013 National Conference on Undergraduate Research - April 11th, 2013
- STEM Program students Arvin Niro, Makana Ramos, and Lee Do (faculty advisor, Dr. Aaron Hanai) presented on “Implementing Intelligent Electronic Traction Control Systems in Robotic Platforms.”
- STEM Program students Michelle Chu and Roberto Ramilo (faculty advisor, Dr. Herve Collin) presented on “The Estimation of Daytime Sleepiness in Hawaii College Students Using Pupilometry.”
- STEM student Micon Garvilles won first place in the undergraduate student poster division for biological sciences at the 2012 Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans (SACNAS) National Conference – October 11th, 2012

- Christian Daoud, Leon Santinizio, and Huilin Xie, won first place with their Unique Lite Design unit load device.
- Hawaii News Now Interview – Christian Daoud was also interviewed by Howard Dicus on Hawaii News Now.
- Justin Carland was a member of the second place team with the Surgical Lighting Solutions business plan.
