“E lawe i ke aʻo a mālama, a e ʻoi mau ka naʻauao. Take what you have learned and apply it and your wisdom will increase.” (Pukui, 1983) A reminder to us that when we learn and gain ʻike (knowledge), we have a kūleana, a responsibility to apply, use, and share it with others.
The STEM Peer Mentors at Kapi‘olani Community College are STEM majors who have achieved a required level of expertise and have been recommended by the Math & Science Faculty as a standout student. In alignment with CRLA International Tutor Training Program, STEM Peer Mentors must adhere to 10 hours of Peer Tutor Training and routine performance evaluation to continue employment at the STEM Center.
Mentoring is available for free to all students enrolled at Kapiʻolani CC. We encourage all KapCC students enrolled in science and/or math courses to take advantage of this free service!

Apply to become a STEM Peer Mentor
STEM student peer mentor are KCC students who have achieve a certain level of expertise. It is the duty of the Peer Mentors to provide mentoring and tutoring to any student enrolled in a STEM course at KCC.
