The STEM Center

The STEM Center, located on the second floor of the Koki‘o building (room 202), provides a unique space where students and faculty can have easy access to one another. Faculty office doors purposefully open inward to the center’s common areas.  The desk modules were designed for collaborative learning and can easily be reconfigured to accommodate alternative learning environments. The Center offers peer mentoring/tutoring services, tablet and desktop PCs, a print station, wireless access for student computers and STEM-oriented educational resources. The STEM Center is open to all KapCC students most days, including evenings and weekends.

STEM-Center-Layout

In summer 2012, a major renovation of the Koki‘o building was completed. In an effort to accommodate the constantly growing student body at KapCC, plans were made to expand floor space of the building. In addition to adding more classroom, laboratory and office space, renovations were also made to the STEM Center with the goal of creating more spaces for STEM students as well as the STEM Program staff and administrators. Thankfully, the STEM Center renovation is completed, which means that the Koki‘o STEM Center is once again open to students.

In addition, the STEM Program now has two full-time counselors. They are located on the KapCC campus in the Maida Kamber Center (Ilima 104) and are available to meet with students on a weekly basis. Their contact information and walk-in hours are displayed below:
